THE MUSLIM WOMAN DRESS

In addition to long breeches made of manufactured silk in multicoloured patterns of flowers, the Muslim women also wore a long sleeved tunic. Over it they would wear a waistcoat, a xhybe (cloak), and a sleeved anteri.

They usually wore silver belts or silk scarves, and covered their heads with a sort of cap called dallfes, decorated with silk braids and real gold coins. On their feet they wore white silk stockings and embroidered shoes made of lambskin. In the cold season, they would add a sort of overcoat called binish, which was made of thicker fabric and always had a fur lining. Included in the costume were a number of various jewellery items, usually made of gold, as well as real pearl necklaces.
